RCRA CORRACTS

RCRA-permitted or interim-status hazardous waste facilities undergoing corrective action, meaning cleanup of releases of hazardous waste or constituents required under RCRA authority. Functionally these are the RCRA program's version of Superfund cleanups, usually at operating or formerly operating industrial facilities.

ASTM E1527-21 requires a 1.0 mile search, the same distance as the NPL, which signals how the standard weighs these sites. Corrective action sites frequently involve documented groundwater contamination, so the analysis for a nearby hit is hydrogeologic: gradient, distance, contaminants, and remedy status.

A CORRACTS listing on the subject property itself is a documented-release scenario. The corrective action status (open, controls in place, terminated) drives whether it reads as a REC or a controlled REC.
