What to include

The more of this we have, the faster we can resolve the issue:

• The email address on your Barrow account and your firm's name.
• Where the problem happened: the Barrow web application, or Barrow for Word.
• For Barrow for Word, which version of Word you are using: Windows, Mac, or Word on the web.
• What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
• A screenshot, along with the exact wording of any error message.
• The project or report name, if the issue involves a specific one.

Barrow for Word

Barrow for Word is our Microsoft Word add-in for drafting Phase I Environmental Site Assessment reports inside the document you are already working in. Common questions:

• The add-in does not appear in Word. Close and reopen Word. If your firm's administrator deployed it centrally, it can take up to 12 hours to appear for everyone. The add-in requires Word 2016 or later, Word for Mac, or Word on the web.
• I am asked to sign in repeatedly. The add-in signs in through your Barrow account. Confirm that pop-up windows are allowed for Word, then sign in again from the task pane.
• It says a subscription is required. Barrow for Word is a paid subscription sold separately by Barrow. Your organization's administrator can start or manage it from the task pane, or write to billing@barrow.site to discuss pricing for your firm.
• Drafting returns nothing, or the wrong content. Every draft depends on the source documents in the workspace you selected. Confirm the correct workspace is open and its documents have finished analyzing, then try again and tell us the section you were drafting.
• How do I remove it? In Word, go to Insert, then My Add-ins, and remove Barrow. Uninstalling stops all transmission from Word; to delete the data in your Barrow account, contact us.

Everything Barrow produces is a preliminary draft. A qualified Environmental Professional must review, validate, and approve it before it is used, distributed, or presented as completed work product. See our Terms of Service and License Agreement.
