Hazardous waste codes

40 CFR part 261 assigns 562 EPA Hazardous Waste Numbers: the D codes for wastes that show a hazardous characteristic, the F and K codes for listed wastes, and the P and U codes for discarded commercial chemical products. Each has a page below showing what the regulation prints for it, in the edition revised as of July 1, 2025.
