ARSENIC cleanup levels in Pennsylvania

  • PA DEP
  • Act 2 Statewide Health Standards
  • CAS 7440-38-2

For ARSENIC, DEP's Statewide Health Standard tables print 10 ug/L for residential groundwater in a used aquifer with TDS up to 2500, 12 mg/kg for residential soil direct contact from 0 to 15 feet, and two residential soil to groundwater values for a used aquifer with TDS up to 2500: 1 mg/kg as 100 X GW MSC and 29 mg/kg as the generic value.

  • 12mg/kg 0-15 feet Table 4a: Medium-Specific Concentrations (MSCs) for Inorganic Regulated Substances in Soil: A. Direct Contact Numeric Values Residential MSC
  • 1mg/kg 100 X GW MSC Table 4b: Medium-Specific Concentrations (MSCs) for Inorganic Regulated Substances in Soil: B. Soil to Groundwater Numeric Values Used Aquifers, TDS < = 2500, R
  • 29mg/kg Generic Value Table 4b: Medium-Specific Concentrations (MSCs) for Inorganic Regulated Substances in Soil: B. Soil to Groundwater Numeric Values Used Aquifers, TDS < = 2500, R

These are the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's published values for ARSENIC, from its Statewide Health Standard tables. DEP's page says the tables present the standards published November 20, 2021. Each value is shown as the agency prints it, with the same number written out beside it where that reads differently.
